Hi Mry,

I dont' know if nipple pain is 'normal' but it is not uncommon. Here's what the handout I developed says about nipple pain:  "Baby will get most milk and you will be most comfortable with a very good latch. Ask for help if needed. A small amount of nipple tenderness may be experienced, but painful or cracked nipples are not normal. Let us know if you are having this kind of trouble."



I use the Follow me Mum video in bf class and (Rebecca?) says there should be no pain at all.
