Lynn asked, " A patient called and asked me about the use of
Splenda while breastfeeding. Suppose to be a sugar substitute made from
sugar?? Has anyone any knowledge of product and safety for use while
breastfeeding?".
I had occasion to read info on this substance recently as I was researching
Aspartame, another sweetener. It seems the problem is that there ISN"T much
research on sucralose on which to base advice. In contrast there is plenty
about Aspartame, and it isn't reassuring. Someone suggested to me using
Splenda instead and the info I found on it isn't much more reassuring.
Here's a site to start your search for info. Hope this helps.

Marsha, who's going home to celebrate my son's 18th birthday today and
remembering those contractions 18 years ago. Anyone else feel like me; that
it's not just the day your child was born, as in "HIS" birthday? It's also
the day I experienced something extraordinary?!
