Hi there,
Another perspective on the lump(s) in question is that the lump she feels now may have been growing for some time and may have been responsible for the blockage and Mastitis she experienced while nursing. I think a mamogram is a very good idea in this situation. tracy

Subject: Cysts - related to past bouts of Mastitis?

A mother who used to come to our LLL meetings has a painless lump in her
breast, with no redness or any other symptoms. She is currently not BF
(weaned about 6 months ago). Her Doc thinks it is a fibroid cyst and is
sending her for a mammogram. She feels the lump may be related to one of
many bouts of mastitis that she experienced while nursing ('old milk', as
she calls it). Does anyone know if this is a possibility? Seems to me as
if it could be. I searched the archives, but couldn't come up with anything
definitive.
