Hi all,
I wrote a few days ago about what I had learned as signs of pain in infants
and was wondering if they were correct. No one responded back, am I on
target?
I will quickly repeat them.
If a baby is experiencing lower abdominal pain, such as colic, they will
bring up their knees when crying and clench their fists.
If a baby is experiencing upper abdominal and chest pain, such as
Reflux/GERD, they will arch and stiffen their bodies when they cry.
I would love to hear if these a true assessment.
Thanks,
Ann Perry RN, IBCLC
