A word on negative doctors:
I would like to join the others who get calls from moms (or dads) that have
been given negative breastfeeding/sleep information. It is very upsetting to
me!

After giving the family references to written current information I HIGHLY
suggest that, if they can, switch doctors. They can write a letter explaining
the specifics of why they are leaving. If enough people do this maybe some of
the doctors will wake-up. There has to be at least one supportive doctor in
the families area.

NO ONE should feel bad about feeding their child often or holding them for
long periods of time. A mom called me yesterday because the nurse told her she
was "spoiling" her baby (2 months) because he was in a sling. She was also
told by the doctor that if she nursed more than every 3-4 hours she was
creating a "monster".

There are some days that I want to go straight to the doctors office and ask
them exactly where they get off telling families some of their information. I
know this is not professional and would never do it. I have, however, sent
current fact sheets and other info. to some doctors per request of a family.
