Maybe I am just one of those odd ones who lets the child decide which
position they like best. My youngest son would have died if on his back
because he couldn't breathe. I do remember the first time I checked on my
oldest child after he had fallen asleep at about 6 months (we were not
co-sleeping at the time), I freaked when I saw him on his stomach, but since
he put himself that way I figured he must have been comfortable. We do back
or side sleeping mostly because it keeps me from having to fiddle with them
to nurse at night.
