About Pulsatilla:
The information that I have is that Pulsatilla is safe to use in its
homeopathic form, but not its herbal form during pregnancy. It is made from
a flower called a Windflower, and that it is used to treat emotional
symptoms (weepy, craving sympathy) and is a treatment for "variable nausea,
with an intolerance of heat or of anything greasy or fatty. The symptoms
often come on in the afternoon or evening, but are typically
changeable..."It is also listed as a tx for migraines, hemmorrhoids, and
vaginitis. I found no mention of its use for milk supply. My information is
from Lisa Goldstein's book "Herbs and Homeopathy: Uses Throughout the
Childbearing Phase of Life"
Windflower may be the common name for Ranunculus ficaria, also commonly
called Pilewort. The roots and leaves are used externally for hemmorrhoids
(piles). It is not to be taken internally. I will be interested in hearing
what others may know of Pulsatilla. I hope that this helps. Diana
