Nobody seems to be overly concerned about the baby who is only just
starting solids at one year of age. It is toddlers, like my
daughter, who are older and refusing all solids that seem to cause
concern. Many toddlers breastfeed a lot and nibble a few solids
foods here and there, some babies and toddlers, however, absolutely refuse
even a taste of anything. This is different from waiting until 10
months or so to introduce solids. My daughter does seem to be highly
allergic. For her, the reaching eagerly for my plate is an
indication of a desire for the tactile experience of crumbling and
squishing, not the oral one of tasting and eating.
