Hi Everyone!

I have been contacted by a family who wishes to use centrifuged breastmilk
(defatted human milk), but the institution they are currently involved
with (the baby has been in ICU following heart surgery for about 3 months
now) will not allow them to use the skim breastmilk unless they can find a
protocol from another hospital. (Don't even get me started...) Has
anyone I have helped (with information and procedures of how to centrifuge
and skim human milk) developed an official protocol? If so, please email
me so I can help this family. I am frustrated beyone words, and this is
my last ditch attempt to help this family feed this child breastmilk.

On a happier note, Bobby is turning 4 next week and is doing wonderfully.
He is scheduled for his next (and hopefully last for a long time) heart
surgery in 9 months, so until that event has passed, I am still pumping
breastmilk for him. Even I am surprised that I've been able to keep up a
supply (exclusively pumping) for 4 years. Though I have been told it is
unlikely, Bobby can develop a chylothorax again so I don't know if I'll
need the milk to centrifuge. I've also developed quite a huge freezer
supply over these past years, but hopefully I won't need it.

Thanks for any help you can give me on the official protocol issue.
