Maureen,

Here are two references I was given by an LLL APL last year (April 94) on
Prozac (generic-Fluoxetine).

1. American Academy of Pediatrics (1/94) "Transfer of Drugs and Other
Chemicals Into Human Milk" Lists Prozac in category: Drugs whose effects
on nursing infants is unknown but may be of concern. Reference article:
Burch, K.J., Wells D.G., Fluoxetine/Nonfluoxetine concentrations in human
milk. Pediatrics, 1992;89:676-677.

2.Therapy Review-in Clinical Pharmacy V10, 8/91. Anderson, Phillip Drug
Use During Breastfeeding. "Fluoxetine has been inadequately studied (1
patient reported in literature) but the long half-life of the drug warns
against its use."

Hope this helps. I would imagine there are more currents references
available by now!
