Hi!

I didn't save the digest this originally came but since I don't think I have
seen any responses to this I thought I would respond.

First and foremost, there is not enough information to go on here.

What makes the mom feel she has lost her milk? Are her breasts feeling less
full? This is normal at that age. Is it because her babies are seemingly
disinterested? Again, can be normal stage of development at this age. Did
her babies lose weight? Was she taking any meds -- esp. hormonal birth
control pills? I have assisted many moms who have started the mini-pill
(birth control) who have noticed a change in their supply and who have had
their babies lose weight from it.

Is this mom supplementing with either formula or baby food? How often is she
nursing? If she is supplementing, she will make less milk. The more she
supplements, the less milk she will make.

As you can see by my questions, there really is not enough info to go on. It
could just be one of these things or a combination of many things.

As an LLLL, my most common call around 2 months is: I am losing my milk, help
me! After verifying there is no use of hormonal birth control, I ask why she
thinks this. Well, her breasts are less full, baby has been nursing
constantly for a day or two (growth spurt), etc. There is no weight loss, no
extra fussiness, no supplements, etc. This is a normal process at about this
age.

If you would like to ask me further questions, feel free to email me
privately.
