Theobroma cacoa - food of the gods. But not listed in Bingel and Farnsworth's
collection of lactogogues. In Duke's Handbook of Medicinal Herbs, his
collection of uses for Theobroma does not include galactogogue ( as an
emmenagogue, and for listlessness, yes, so not all is lost). He does note
that Venezuelans apply cocoa butter to sore breasts to relieve irritation.

Duke notes cocoa contains over 300 volatile compounds - theobromine being the
main alkaloid - a theophylline-like component (as well as a bit of caffeine).
Dukes more recent phytochemical reference does list theophylline in the plant
(no quantification or specific part listed).

My local healthfood store, of all places, is the source of 77% cocoa solids
chocolate bars made with real ! sugar - way past L**** for flavour, for my
tastes. This same brand also has a whole series of strengths of chocolate
(e.g. 70%, 65%...) so you can either wean yourself slowly or work your way up,
as required by circumstance, time of the month, etc....May I also suggest this
brand for experimental work ( name given on request).
