I have heard anecdotally (but never studied it) women complaining that after
breastfeeding and then weaning, their breasts shrunk to "even smaller than
before the pregnancy". Since the breasts are comprised mostly of fat tissue,
I wonder if it is related to weight loss....personally, in my non-scientific
study of one, my breasts did not change size after a total of 60 months of
breastfeeding 3 children. But, sadly, I still carry the pregnancy weight
gains as well!! (and the youngest weaned about 11 years ago).
