If you don't want your infant taken to the nursery for the pediatrician to  
examine him or her....just say NO!  Make the MD come into your room to  examine 
the baby.  That is the most appropriate way to do it anyway.   It is YOUR 
baby - YOU have the power.  You could also ask the question  during your prenatal 
tour or registration - if they say they won't allow it -  find another 
hospital!
