Thanks for this post, Jacqui: though you probably could not get it into a peer-reviewed professional journal, it's a great story, and the subject line is book-title worthy on its own.  I guess the post goes into the category 'serendipitous empiric findings - a case report'.

Here in Norway that story would also be recounted at the child's confirmation, but only if he would be completely mortified by it, which is the whole purpose of 'endearing anecdotes from the confirmand's early years'.
