Lynnette makes a good point. Not every tongue tie, or latch, or click 
needs fixing. If it works for mom and baby both, great. It's usually 
when it doesn't that we private practice folk see it.

I like to attend La Leche League meetings, because they are a great 
reminder that breastfeeding WORKS and that it doesn't have to be perfect 
to be good. I've seen tongue-tied babies breastfeed just fine if mom's 
nipples were really elastic, and other babies with very mild tongue ties 
that just could not breastfeed without treatment. It's not only the baby 
characteristics, it's the dyadic combinations. That's part of what makes 
this job such cool detective work.
