My grandson, Z, just went for his 2 yr checkup at the ped's office. He is
38.5" tall and weighs 44 lbs. it is all muscle - he is very active and can
swim (really swim!) for an hour non-stop, but has trouble floating because
he has so little fat. Z eats a very healthy diet, mostly veggies and fruits,
and still nurses many times a day :) He takes after his father who nursed
for 2.5 yrs, also gained like crazy, went through the roof of all the charts
and ended up 6'5" tall.
I am convinced that genetics DOES have a role here.
The most interesting part of this is that Z's mother, my DIL, is
breastfeeding after reduction surgery. Not only did she have oversupply for
the first few months, but she is anticipating tandem nursing when her new
baby arrives around thanksgiving.

norma, thankful for so many small miracles
