Breastfeeding "relaxing" uterus makes no sense to me.

However, what I wanted to comment on was the need to wean in order to do a
mammogram. Some info from our recent breast cancer and breastfeeding
conference (a terrific expereince!): whenever a mother has a reason to
find out what is happening in the breast (ie., lumps unexplained or mass
that is unrelated to "usual" bf-related symptoms, recommend ultrasound.
NEVER a mammogram. It is impossible to read and would not be done in any
case. Ultrasound would, however, tell something, like whether additional
therapy is needed and does NOT require weaning and will NOT cause pain when
done. Simply have mother tell ultrasonographer that she is breastfeeding
and no pressure will be placed on the breast.
