I announce the arrival of new baby guru and maternity nurse to 'the
stars' : Claire Verity.

This lady has some PR behind her, I think, as she is popping up
everywhere (at baby shows, in newspapers, on TV).

You can get a flavour of her expertise here:

http://local.babble.com/content/articles/columns/5minutetimeout/Claire-Verity/

(example: she thinks it is preposterous that anyone might feed a 10-pound baby)

...and an interview with her on the back of a TV programme airing
next Tuesday here:

http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/families/article2490406.ece

(example: she loathes her opponents...and by the way she is mistaken
about the National Childbirth Trust, because we have never organised
any personal protest against her and the blog she refers to is not
ours, but The Children's Project
http://socialbaby.blogspot.com/2007/05/stop-claire-verity.html)

...and this link to an interview with the mother who followed her
methods, based on Truby King's, except he, for all his faults,
supported breastfeeding:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=482838&in_page_id=1879

(example: babies don't need and shouldn't have cuddles).

Knowing the TV programme was being made, there were several
representations (including from us) to the programme makers pointing
out the danger of her methods, but it went ahead anyway.
