Question for Kathleen: Is there anthropological evidence that autism
existed before the WWI chemical warfare age dawned upon us?

Chemicals now recognized as brain and body harming (especially in
children) are banned as of a future date and not pulled off the market
immediately: http://www.ens.lycos.com/ens/dec2000/2000L-12-08g.html

Also, there was a "super baby" clinic on the east coast that taught
parents with an austistic child how to begin brain reprogramming
exercies (way beyond just cross/crawl) to do to/with their child.

I saw one child's story portrayed on 20/20 or some such show. The
mother had the whole neighborhood and family come in in shifts and work
the limbs and movements with their boy 16 out of 24 hours for several
years and he redeveloped the neural pathways for both muscle development
and social interactions and thus was able to enter the regular classroom
when he
went to school.

The late Carl Pfeiffer Phd at the Princeton NJ Bio-Center demonstrated
some nutrient mechanisms gone awry in mental states and began the
orthomolecular medicine concept of need for much higher than normal
levels of amino acids, vitamins and minerals. One person's experience
is related in the book "Ricki" written by Frederick Flasch, MD now out
of print, but maybe at your library.

Breastfeeding was much encouraged by him as the most appropriate feeding
and one of the questions on the intake questionnaire asked if the person
was in fact breastfed. I personally took my daughter there for an
evaluation when she was extremely ill on a 2-week NYC vacation about
nine years ago. Years later we found out it was most likely connected
to long term exposure to NYC's fluoridated water/food supply as persons
with porphyria must avoid all fluoridated compounds such as in medicines
in order not to overburden their livers. They are all on the "bad" list
of their possible medications.
