I don't mind people drinking milk if it agrees with them.  It does have
lots of good points.  I usually suggest that kids go to 2 %, then 1%, then
skim, taking about 6 mo on each.  Slowly getting used to   the changing
taste and texture.  We simply don't need the cow's milk  fat.  The
difference in calories 1 cup  milk , whole- 150; 2% - 125, 1% - 105, skim
90.  The lower fats milks are all given with dry milk solids added, which
is pretty standard here in NJ.  The calories dropped are purely fat.
