I'm searching for information about Ketek (mom didn't know it's generic
name) and breastfeeding. Not in Hale 2004.
A mother of a 3 month old, has a perisitent ear infection. Mom has several
allergies to other antibiotics. Was on Zithromax briefly for this ear
infection, "but developed alergic symptoms so discontinued it". She says
her Dr has ran out of known safe antibiotics for breastfeeding that she can
take and wants her to quit breastfeeding or pump and discard while on this
new one because there isn't anything known about it r/t breastfeeding.
However she reported the Dr said it's been used in Europe for 4 years... so
I was thinking, maybe those of you in Europe might be familiar with Ketek
and have some info I could share with her.
At this point she is holding off on filling the script and hoping to not
give formula since she has no stored milk and her baby has been exclusive
nursing till now.

anyone familiar with this antibiotic?
