I LOVE the idea of insisting on parental consent for the use of a non-human
product. Anyone who has some clout in nurseries (well-baby) or NICUs or
step-down units may want to take this on as a personal project.

If consents must be obtained for a) surgery, b) experimental procedures, c)
medication use, etc., why not for artificial baby milk--which has known
side-effects and which can pose short- and long-term health problems.

I would LOVE to hear from the MDs on LACTNET re: what they think of this
idea. Obviously, we can all think of people who will laugh in our
(collective or individual) face(s), but let's look on the more positive
side. Can we idetnify those who would not laugh, but would give this
request SERIOUS consideration?

I'm now off the soapbox. Next? :-)
