Brandi asks: is it even worth it to pursue LC certification if I do not
have plans of also becoming an RN?

BOY DO I HOPE SO!

Okay a more serious answer - in my experience as a non-nurse IBCLC, it
takes a good deal of creativity and perseverance to find something
utilizing your IBCLC skills outside of the more common settings, but I
wouldn't have it any other way for me personally. That being said, my
own personal current work is based much more on my public health
background than the IBCLC part, but that part is crucial nonetheless.
To me, the key is that we need people with bf expertise of MANY
different backgrounds, all working synergistically to hopefully someday
collectively work ourselves out of a job. ;)
