2 Things, I am an IBCLC who has taken the role of unit manager of an OB department. This has been a great way to implement breastfeeding friendly policies. LC's can influence practice by relaying accurate information and using evidence to promote our cause. Also, regarding the LC who is considering training babies to take bottles by giving pacifiers. We lose credibility by developing practices based on personal or anecdotal information. We also have to be very careful not to let our own personal parenting practices guide the information we give out as professionals.
