I don't know the ins and outs of legality issues on this, but I provide
milk to a friend who had a breast reduction.  We both mutually agreed
that the price of milk was a) too high for her to pay and b) too high
for me to charge (i.e. for the amount of time that goes into pumping and
the storage and all, it would be literally 'liquid gold' without even
talking about regular processing fees a milk bank charges...).  However,
we do do a sort of barter-like system.  Before giving birth she had a
glasses store and I got glasses at cost (very cheap).  She also has sent
me a few other things (strawberry jam once!) that make it a sort of
"exchange" of sorts.

That is on top of paying for the shipping charges and what-not.
