Not sure what you mean by 'pseudo inverted nipples' - do you mean nipples
which look inverted but aren't really (ie they do stand out on
stimulation)?

First thing is to get this baby off the nipple shield - as soon as
possible.  This is not always easy or instantanous, but as long as he uses
the shield, he runs the risk of running down his mother's milk supply even
more. There are ways to get rid of the shield - check the archives and BAB
for ideas - but personally I find the best way is to make sure the baby has
plenty of skin to skin (all day and all night if poss) so he enjoys
smelling, touching, licking the breast without the shield *and* gets lots
of opportunity to latch on without a fuss and a fight.

In the wrong hands, nipple shields are a danger to bf.
