My own first reaction would be to call the insurance co. & find out how
to file a
discrimination complaint. I would probably call a lawyer to verify
whatever they told me.

My second thought is that if she has no insurance, she could probably get
much better, more compassionate care at her local clinic under "Free
Care".
(Please bear in mind that  I work with compassionate, caring people and
many of our clients get Free Care.)

Wouldn't it be better for her dignity and self-respect to go where people
are nice to her - that's why she may be better off not going back to the
first place!
