Oh, it rears its head again. I have had a problem with several of the community health nurses I work with about breastfeeding. They are militant about sleeping in a crib and smoking around babies. The saddest thing is that they make all their clients feel guilty about other parenting choices. The latest is that one told me the reason she "made" her clients feel guilty about smoking is that smoking kills. I tried to explain that not receiving breast milk immunities does too and she turned it around to formula killing babies and how she did not believe that.
And she only uses AAP statements to her personal advantage. "And what the WHO recommends is just related to third world countries."
The saddest of all this is that most of my co-workers agree with her and discuss me like I am the militant.

Please keep the faith and know that you are making the world better. It never ceases to amaze me that the feminist don't see breast milk as a uniquely female product, that by diminishing it, they are diminishing themselves.

Take care.
Pam, who will stop her rant now.
