Jay,

I, too, am currently nuring my third (she's 13 months old now) and yes, it is
not uncommon for your breasts NOT to be overfull between feedings. It just
means that he's feeding enough and often enough - for him! If he's as mellow
as he sounds and thriving (which it certainly sounds like), trust your baby
and your body!!

Keep in mind, engorgement is not "normal" (tho' common). If you would like to
"test" it... try intentionally going for more than the 3 or so hours between
feeding that your son seems to prefer for now... you'll feel full enough! I
think sometimes we get so used to hearing and seeing the problems, we can
sometimes forget that it can really be a smooth as silk!
