Hello everyone. I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you in
Washington in November. I thought I would post the schedule for the
symposium, so that those in the neighborhood can come to listen. Unlike
LLLI conferences, American Anthropological Association meetings are pretty
much open -- no one checks badges. You have to register to give a paper,
but not just to attend. So for those of you in area on 15 November 1995, at
the Washington DC Hilton Towers, the symposium begins at 6:00 pm.

6:00-6:15 Moi. "Breastfeeding in Evolutionary Perspective"
6:15-6:30 James McKenna "Under the Cover (and Covers) of Darkness:
Noctural Breastfeeding Activities Among Routinely Solitary and Cosleeping
Mother-Infant Pairs in a Sleep Laboratory"
6:30-6:45 Marc Micozzi "Breast Cancer, Reproductive Biology, and
Breastfeeding"
6:45-7:00 Sandra Gray "Fat for the Hungry Season: Infant Feeding
Strategies among Nomadic Turkana Pastoralists"
7:00-7:15 Carol Worthman The Weanling's Dilemma Reconsidered: A
Biocultural Analysis of Breastfeeding Ecology"
7:15-7:30 Elizabeth Whitaker "The Blood-Milk Barrier in Fascist Italy:
Medical and Political Intervention in Breastfeeding and Maternity"
7:30-7:45 Patricia Stuart-Macadam "Biocultural Perspectives on Breastfeeding"

The papers by Gray, Worthman, and Whitaker are *not* based on chapters in
the book, but promise to be highly interesting. Again, anyone is welcome,
and come up and let us know who you are!
