Fred
I recently counselled a mum with 7 day old baby with poor attachment. By
the end of my time with mum, mum was having painfree, relaxed feedings from
both sides.

Then she threw, in passing, a comment about how when the baby finished on
the breast she began to get a burning stinging sensation that began at the
underside of the areola to the back of the breast and then spread to the
remaining breast. this occured in both breasts.

The mum has not had antibiotics and there is no visible signs of thrush on
the breast. The baby began change position of breast in the mouth (and
feeding became painful) after MER and rate had possibly slowed down. No
sign of thrush in baby's mouth.

The weather here is perfect for thrush - hot, humid tropical. We do see
alot of thrush here.

Suggested a visit to the Dr. I have not discounte the possibility of thrush
but wondering if anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
