>Maybe we're not stuck with breastfeeding. What do you think? Would we
*dare* just talk about "feeding"?
>Maybe my fellow UK people will back me up here...I think in British
English, this is already done

Absolutely, we say feeding -- 'I am feeding my baby' is a code way of saying
breastfeeding. You might go further and say 'breastfeeding'. Nursing to
me -- brought up, remember in the USA with two sisters born when I was 7 and
9 who were breastfed -- conjures up a bedpan image every single time.

As Heather says, we use feeding over here. And lord knows our breastfeeding
initiation, duration, and duration/initiation of exclsuive breastfeeding are
NOTHING to get excited about, adn the community acceptance of breastfeeding
is also NOTHING to envy.
