I assume, of course, that she plans to explain the circumstances to the
professor in advance, to prepare him/her for the *unavoidable* presence of a
baby in the classroom, and that she will be sitting in the back of the room,
so that she can go through the sometimes rummaging and sprawling process of
latching on a 4 day old without disrupting the class.

And of course the LC or LLLL or *very* experienced nursing friend whom she
arranged to have with her during the first few class times will be there to
help as well, to make sure latches are quick and quiet and the baby (and
possibly mother) can be whisked out into the hall as needed.

The mother will have practiced at home with the help of this same "doula",
so that they work smoothly as a team and understand each other and the baby
as well as possible. And she will have practiced nursing and walking at the
same time, so that if she needs to latch the baby on in the hall, she can
walk back in with nursing babe in arms.

The professor will agree to all this because the mom will *expect* him/her
to, and because it will demonstrate to the class that flexibility and
careful planning can overcome the most unusual of circumstances in the
business world...

Yes, it can be done. But leaving the baby home is surely the most
complicated, least satisfying, least *interesting* way to do it!
