Hi Robin, it sounds like we have a lot of the same concerns being hospital
based and all. Something that has been very helpful to staff nurses and
breastfeeding mothers is an informational colostrum handout which has
outlines of the newborn's small stomach at day 1, 3 and 10. Please email me
privately if you'd like to see it. You may also want to check into
Hollister's "Belly balls" education tool adapted from Linda J. Smith's "Coach's
Notebook". It is a wonderful tool as well. I try to have it in my pocket at all
times so I can whip it out when visitors are making comments like "how can
he/she be hungry again?". Keep up the fight, it is worth it!
