My name is Christine LAM. I'm the lactation specialist working in the
obstetric unit of a big hospital in Hong Kong.  It is the first I write to
lactnet.

I've a client recently called for help because she is pregnant. It is her
second pregnancy. She developed severe breast pain during her first
pregnancy which made her fail her breastfeeding.? years ago.

Now it is her second pregnancy. She developed the same feeling of breast
pain which require analgsic to relief. Obstetrician only gave her panadol
for pain relief. Now she is very worrying about her breastfeeding plan will
be failed as her previous one. She will come to my clinic later for pre-
assessment.

It is the most sensitive case I have heard. Any suggestion or things to
check during her visit to the breastfeeding clinic antenatally.
