Gosh, I've just been made a "subject line." I have been put in my place
and probably deservedly so.
I AM at the point in my life where I don't want to be on call 24/7 as a
volunteer. God bless and good luck to those who do. Self disclosure
should not be necessary but I've been a Leader a LONG time and I took
"night phone (hotline) calls" many many years ago. I work full time (as
a Lactation Consultant) and have older kids. I believe the LLL referral
system is more sophisticated now and think that's wonderful. I fully
support all of the points of view offered but stand by my belief that a
little bit of proactiveness can save a nursing mom from having to make
those middle of the night calls.
