The listmothers want to remind you all that Lactnet is *our* virtual living
room, in which we hope you find others to have stimulating, provocative and
fruitful conversations.  In our living room we would like newbies to feel
just as comfortable being there as the lactosauruses do, and we want to
share with the lactosauruses the joy and inspiration that comes from seeing
new people join us as we work to make it possible for more babies to
experience normal infant feeding.

To that end, we bring you one paragraph from the welcome message you all got
when you joined this list.  We feel the need to do so because the current
discussion has gotten so heated that this seems at times to have been
forgotten.

"Speaking of others (whether individuals, companies or groups e.g. Drs, LCs,
particular religious groups) in a derogatory way  is not acceptable on
Lactnet and may also place you at risk of legal action, even if the posted
comment is true.  Comments that are not appropriate for public
hearing/reading should be sent privately.  You are responsible for your own
comments at all times.  First time offenders of this rule will receive a
warning from list administrator.  Second time offenders will be deleted
permanently from the list."

Please note that criticism of the actions of a group is permitted, even
encouraged, as with the current commotion over the IBLCE scope of practice.
