In Montgomery County (Dayton), Ohio we've got few things planned for World
Breastfeeding Week
.On August 1 we'll be picketing Courthouse Square with our WIC mom's, LLL
mom's and babies and older babies, and kids with picket signs at the noon
hour (last year we got TV coverage).  There is nothing else going on that day
at all.
  We are taping 2 seven minute interviews at our local TV station that
hopefully will be aired more than once that week; one of the BF mom's is a
lawyer, we hope, and the other is a WIC Mom with her M.A. now working with
the Battered Women's Shelter.
 We're setting up a display with a constant video (maybe we'll use Anita
Bryant) in the Health Departments Vital Statistics Department for the whole
week, which everyone entering from the parking garage has to pass.
 We're designing a decal (copying San Diego's idea) to hopefully get Malls,
Department
Stores and restaurants to display (along with a write up in Kid's Sense (our
local newspapers quarterly magazine on kids) saying that BF Women and their
babies are WELCOME! Course we have yet to get anyone to donate the decals.
 We have some friendly reporters who will maybe give us some press, but the
editor says  we've had to much in lately and folks are't Interested?!?!?!,
(the editor is a man) but we'll try anyway.
 We'll do interviews on the radio stations that like us, we have two.
 And did you know that every mom who breastfeeds saves 500 acres of a rain
forest,  not to even mention saving the ozone layer ( no cows giving off
methane to produce mommy replacer ( a new calling for ABM) so I have this
commercial in mind
that I'd love to give to the Sierra Club or another rich, peaceful
environmental group to
produce. (Can anyone out there give me a lead?)
We're creating a fact sheet with all the resources in the Miami Valley that
BF women might need to know and giving it to our Information and Referral
network through the United Way and of course giving it to every  pregnant/BF
woman from now on.
 We'd love to hear what the rest of you are doing, maybe we can to it too !!
 This is the third time I've tried to write, I keep getting rejected, but
maybe today I won't,
maybe I'll send it to the correct address this time.
 We love Lactnet, everyday I bring in your letters and comments to our staff
and it's almost like a Soap Opera everyone is addicted to.  It really is nice
to know we have company in our battle to save this silly old world.  It will
be so much better once we are in charge.
