Permission to post: Recently, I witnessed a client's left nipple react to
touch/pressure in a way that I had never seen before. This client has a
pin-head bleb (which the midwife pierced, not successfully, though the bleb
is slowly reducing in size with other techniques) and what appeared to be a
very large plugged duct at the base of the nipple.

During hand expression, and nipple examination, this client's nipple would
'blow up', meaning that big, clear blisters would form all around the
nipple. The client and the midwife both thought it was Raynauds, but I
disagree. Client apparently has had Raynauds her whole life. But, these
spots looked fluid, or even air filled... not blanched, not white, not what
I would expect Raynauds or vasospasm to look like.

I have thought of allergy, as I do wear vinyl gloves during consults, but it
was ONLY her left nipple, not her right, and not any other tissue that I
touched.

I wish I had a picture to show you, but she declined them.

Anyone have any ideas?
