I remember my mother telling me that she had repeated breast infections,
including at least one breast abscess, while nursing my younger sister.
Eventually someone suggested that her husband also be treated, as he might
be the source of the recurring infections. (I think he also had some symptom
to suggest that - perhaps impetigo or something similar.) After he also went
through a course of antibiotics, her infections stopped. This all happened
many years ago, so I don't know how valid it is.
