Thanks to all of you who replied to my question concerning bf with TB.
Just to let you know what happened: The soon-to-be mom from our childbirth
class is a 17 y/o who brought her own mom to class as her support person.
(Her husband would not come and will not be with her during labor and
delivery) The fact that she is even considering bf is wonderful since the
bf rates among teens is very low here. Unfortunately, I really feel that
this young woman will not be successful at bf. Due to the simple fact of
her support system ( or should I say lack of?). Her mom seemed very
negative to her wanting to bf. I talked to them both for a long time
before class Sunday. I passed along all the info I received from everyone.
Mom was still *very* negative. After all, the DOCTOR told her daughter
she couldn't breastfeed, and I am only a nurse. :-( By the way, this
girl's mom got up and walked out of class during our section on
breastfeeding!

I guess we can't win them all, huh? Thank you again for all your help!
