One comment we frequently run into when doing any kind of inservice is,"But I learned that______". or even, "But last year you said_____".  Any time I talk about information that may be different from what has been previously taught, I try to lead off with something like, "I used to--------but recent research shows that--------is a better approach" or "Breastfeeding doesn't change, but our understanding of how it works and how to help when it doesn't is constantly changing."  Then I will refer to something like sleeping position where recent research has led to a change in common practice.
