This is an older topic, but I just caught up. I was advised to delay or
refuse vitamin K for my second child because I did not want his bilirubin
level to rise. Nine years before, my daughter had been hospitalized for
jaundice and given formula. When I brought my son in, the doctor questioned
the lack of vitamin K, but when he looked it up in, I think, the PDR, one
of the side effects was hyperbilirubinemia. I did not risk a bris without
vitamin K, though; and my son had no jaundice. I drank a lot of fennel tea
to help, as well.
