At our instituition (Children's hospital), we do alot of breastmilk fortification - 
especially for our cardiac babies who are unable to feed directly at breast 
(volume restrictions, respiratory issues, tube feedings, etc).
On many occasions, it is recommended that protein be increased by adding 
addiitonal formula powder or beneprotein to the expressed breastmilk.  We 
routinely fortify to 24 cal/ounce up to 30 cal/ounce.
My question is - does anyone know what this is actually doing to the ebm?  
Does it actually increase the protein??  Or does it bind, disrupt or interfere 
with the protein in human milk?
