To all Lactnetters, you may recall my post on the Lego Primo
advertising using babys bottle feeding, the reply states:

"we have examined the matter very carefully and we do not think that
we promote bottle-feeding of newborn babies in our catalogue. The
babies shown are usually sitting in a highchair or standing in a
playpen and in one case the baby is being held in an adults arms.
The baby is not necessarily newborn in any of these play situations.
In your letter, you have stated that our 'company is not doing its
job to promote breastfeeding or breastmilk.' Although we are in
agreement with your views on the benefits of breastfeeding, we
believe that an essential part of our products play value is in role
play and to show real situations to children. A part of this role
play is to feed the baby. It could also encourage a brother or
sister to help feed the baby. We are not actively promoting bottle
feeding. We are simply trying to add play value to our product and
encourage children to engage in interaction with other members of
their family in their role playing activites.
Thank you very much for your concern and feedback and we will take
your comments into consideration in the planning of future
advertising materials."

Interesting stuff, I am sure you will all agree...the role play bit
really disturbs me. How about the rest of you?
