Subject: poor latch, shields etc.

When I read the first few lines I thought reflux and there it is in 2nd
paragraph!
Is she still using the zantac and is it an adequate dose?
If she uses the shield does he continue to gain? I don't see anything wrong
with using a shield forever if that is what it takes for comfortable
nursing - just keep tabs on weight gain. Be sure and keep a note on the LC
(?) who charged her $400 to tell her to give up! I wouldn't refer anyone
else to her! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ

Hi Pat,

The baby is still on Zantac and mom says that he is on the maximum dose for
his weight. She discontinued the shield about 1.5 months ago. She actually
did try to start using it again when she was in so much pain, but the baby
now refuses it. He is a finicky little thing. :-)

Oh, and most importantly, it was not an LC that charged her $400 and told
her not to give up, it was the Occupational Therapist, recommended by the
LC. I did make a note of the OT so that I won't send anyone her way.

Thanks!
