I have been told that I would have to take a nursing degree in order to get my IBCLC qualification. I am not a health professional (although tertiary educated) and have been an ABA breastfeeding counsellor for about 7 years now.
I dearly wished to become an IBCLC but didn't quite get to sit the exam before the requirements changed - now I am effectively shut out. I have neither the time nor money to complete another tertiary qualification.
