OK, here it comes:
This is what was in the "lovely" little Peter Rabbit Gift bag for
BREASTFEEDING moms that my friend got 2 of (for twins of course) from the hosp:

Several gauze pads (for circumcisions and cord care)
G**b*r washable bra pads
1 Reusable ice pack (with the ABM name and Peter Rabbits mom bot feeding a
baby bunny)
1 booklet: Nursing: The First Two Months an excerpt from The Nursing
Mother's Compainion
1 booklet: Your Baby's First Year (I will give you excerpts from that in a bit)
1 pamphlet for a Peter Rabbit Boppy Pillow set (an exclusive offer from E*****l)
1 $10 rebate coupon for breast pump purchase/rental
1 "send me info" card for free gifts and information from E*****l
1 order form for an Heirloom Monogram Blanket (must have 15
proof-of-purchase points to go with the order)
1 BF and diaper record
1 pamphlet/order form to have ready made bottles of ABM shipped right to
your door
1 box of E*****l w/Iron powdered ABM packets (4 4oz packets)

In the "Your Baby's First Year" booklet there are "Feeding with Love"
helpful hints/information for each month of babys 1st year - each one is
prefaced with a statement that says that ONLY breastmilk or ABM should be
given - no cow's milk in any form for the first year:

(I will just paraphrase and pick out the "best" statements)

Month One:
General:
(For ABM fed babies) Baby will eat up to 32 ounces of milk every 24 hours.

BF:
Drink lots of liquids to ensure and adequate supply of breast milk.

Month Two:
General:
Feed the baby about 5 times a day. Baby will drink up to 40 ounces every 24
hours.

BF:
Use both breasts at each feed to stimulate milk supply.

Month 3:
BF:
Learn how to pump or express by hand.
EBM keeps in a fridge for up to 24 hrs or freezer for up to 8 weeks.
Drink plenty of liquids.

Month 4:
BF:
Shake stored EBM well before feeding to mix the fat evenly in the milk.

Month 5:
BF:
Let others feed the baby EBM so they and baby can enjoy the intimacy of
feeding time.

Month 6:
General:
introduce cereals
give up to 4 oz fruit juice
breastmilk or ABM should provide about 90% of baby's calories

BF:
When you can, express milk to be given to baby when you can't be there

Month 7:
BF:
drink 8 glasses of fluid a day to make sure you have an adequate supply of
breast milk

Month 8:
BF:
for working moms - find a private place to express breast milk

Month 9:
General:
encourage baby to hold cup or bottle on his own

BF:
Don't worry if babys interest in BF decreases - weaning is a gradual process

Month 10:
General:
Give baby 1/4 - 1/3 cup of juice a day

BF:
If baby bites, say "No!' or "Ouch!" and remove baby from breast for a while
to teach that biting is not ok.

Month 11:
General:
baby will drink aup to 48 oz of breastmilk or ABM per day

BF:
if you BF during the day and baby seems jittery toward evening, reduce
beverages that contain caffeine

Month 12
General:
feed breastmilk or ABM (beyond first year type) for as long as child wants it

BF:
if baby has started to wean offer ABM in cup to replace BF sessions that
have been missed

Now, I won't even go into the "Important Changes" and "Caring for Your Baby"
sections - some of the info there is, in my opinion, absolute trash,
especially for the later months (for the 7 month section it says that the
infant seat can be placed facing forward as soon as the baby is 17 - 20
pounds!!!!).

Sorry this is so long, but I thought you might be interested in some details
of the contents that our BF moms get. The wording is so sublte against BF
and some of the other info is subtle against attachment style parenting.
Pathetic, if you ask me.
