If beer is too expensive for you (or you find it too luxurious for the
slugs), try to find a brewery around your
place: they might give you the stuff in the bottom of their barrels,
betwen batches: very sweet, concentrated and alcoholic.  They usually
throw it away, and might be quite happy to help you make sure the slugx
die happy...
You see, my husband is the Ultimat Compost man... and swears by organic
methods
only (except if human life is in danger... but you have to prove it !!!)
